Last updated: August 30, 2026 | Medical Glasses Donation Platform
We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our platform — whether you are a
registered "Donor", a registered "Recipient", or simply a visitor browsing available listings without
an account. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: name, email address, phone number (verified via a confirmation code), city, and an optional profile picture.
Communication data: messages exchanged in real time between donors and recipients through the platform,s internal chat system.
Complaint data: the content of any complaint you submit, and any follow-up messages exchanged with our support team about it.
Transaction data: the status of each donation (pending, accepted, delivered, confirmed received), and issued donation receipts.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, and usage logs, collected from both registered users and visitors browsing the platform, used for security purposes and to prevent abuse.
Cookies: we use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (such as a session cookie) to keep you signed in and to remember your place in the platform — for example, returning you to the listing you were viewing after you log in. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
To operate the donation process and connect donors with suitable recipients.
To let visitors browse available listings before deciding to create an account.
To send notifications related to your requests (new contact request, acceptance, rejection, delivery confirmation, receipt issuance).
To verify user identity via phone number and reduce fraudulent accounts.
To review complaints and resolve disputes between parties when necessary.
To improve the platform and analyze overall usage (using aggregated, de-identified data wherever possible).
3. Sharing Information With Others
Direct contact information (such as phone numbers) is not shared between a donor and a recipient until
a contact request has been accepted by both parties, and only within the limits each user sets under their
listing,s "contact method" preference. We do not sell your data to any marketing party, and we do not share
it with third parties except in the following cases:
When required by a legal obligation.
To protect the rights of the platform or its users in cases of proven misuse.
With technical service providers who process data on our behalf (such as our server hosting provider, our transactional email provider, and — if enabled — an SMS/phone verification provider), under confidentiality agreements and only to the extent needed to operate the platform.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain donation records and receipts for up to 24 months after account closure for documentation and
audit purposes, unless a longer period is legally required. You may request the deletion of your account
and personal data at any time via your profile settings, though some records tied to completed donations
(such as receipts) may be retained in a de-identified form beyond that period for statistical purposes.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, including encrypted connections
(HTTPS), authorization checks before displaying any sensitive data, restricting access to administrative
data to authorized staff only, and encrypting sensitive values (such as session cookies) in transit and at rest.
6. Your Rights
Access the data we store about you and request a copy of it.
Correct any inaccurate information in your profile.
Request deletion of your account, subject to the exceptions noted above.
Withdraw your consent to promotional notifications (excluding notifications essential to operating your account).
Where applicable under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), object to or restrict certain processing of your data, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Children,s Privacy
This platform is not directed at individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal
data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can
remove it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. You will be notified of any material changes via email or an
in-platform notification, and the "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most
recent revision.
